Heated Glass @ BAS 9

Heated Glass in collaboration with Cillian O’Sullivan for If We Had This Space at the British Art Show 9 with The Asylum Art Gallery, Wolverhampton

Using performative methods to record sounds of glass and heat, this piece was created to reflect the dilapidated environment at The Eye Hospital. The noise produced from cleaning and moving glass responds to the smashed windows of The Eye Hospital while also referring domestically to its residential future. Simultaneously, the bellowing sound of heat speaks to the constructive transformation the site will hopefully experience, with planning permission pending approval this year. With a shy beginning, the sound develops and expands to produce a representation of active desire for architectural and functional change at The Eye Hospital.
